Kynuna is approx 160km from Winton, there is a lot of controversy between them! You see Kynuna is very small in comparison with Winton, and they also claim to be "The Waltzing Matilda Town", you see apparently...Our good friend Patterson WROTE the song in Kynuna but first publicly sang it in Winton. So Winton like to take the song as their own, when Kynuna passionately believe it is theirs.
This is the "Walkabout Creek Hotel" in McKinlay (approx 80km from Kynuna), it is the hotel used in the movie "Crocodile Dundee", (which I would have to say would be my dad's and my favourite movie to watch together...good times and memories, we love it).
Our cars and caravan. It was great to be there, we were bummed though cause it opened at 10am and it was 9am. Oh well, next time I guess!
