WINTON Central QLD
~ Not a super dooper town but things to see ~
Tuesday 11th of October 2005
I really wanted to go to the National Park Reserve so we went for a drive to find it and missed the turn off that we saw the sign for on the way back!
On the way back it was about to get dark though so we didn't get to see it.
This is a nice lake we found. We did almost hit several sheep and Roo's on the way it was a great adventure.
A fuzzy picture of the lake.
My sweet little Suzie Two, she handles corrugated roads like a charm! Built for the outback is what I say! (hehe)
Do you reckon a hotted up bull bar cage on the front would be sweet? Then I could go get some Roo and Lamb for tea! hehe
Nice and dry ground at Winton.
The dinosaur bones you may have seen at the ekka or wherever that were found in Australia...the town they were found in were...you guessed it ..Winton! I've seen them at some show before but didn't see them at Winton, it is 200km outta town or something.
Winton claims to be the "Waltzing Matilda Town" and they get a lot of tourism out of being the town where Banjo Paterson performed Waltzing Matilda for the first time publicly.
